Activism and Advocacy
We spend a lot of spare time - and money - trying to make the world a better a place. There are too many good causes to list them all. Here are some immediate issues:
Global Climate Change is making itself felt in more ways every season. Living sustainably is an imperative and our society is going to have to adapt. Whether it's eating a plant-based diet, cycling or taking public transit to work, or putting up solar panels, we are doing out best to minimize our carbon output and set a good example. We also support many enviromental organizations to help get the word out and lobby for necessary changes.
Our webhosting company, Dreamhost, has purchased carbon offsets to compensate for the energy they use and is a carbon neutral company.
Income Inequality stifles the creativity of our society and causes hardship for the many while the few amass more wealth than they could possibly use in this lifetime. This trend must be reversed.
There are many kinds of prejudice and we do our best to combat racism, sexism, homophobia, biphophia and other forms of discrimination through the organizations we support and the lives we lead.
